ARIEHome Care

Homemaker services

The practical work that keeps a home safe, fed and comfortable, done the way the person who lives there likes it done.

A home that is hard to keep up becomes a home that is hard to live in. Dishes pile up, the fridge empties, laundry waits, and the bathroom floor gets slippery. Homemaker services take care of the household so the person can keep living in it.

What is included

  • Meal planning and cooking, to taste and diet
  • Grocery shopping and putting away
  • Laundry, ironing and changing beds
  • Light housekeeping: kitchen, bathroom, floors
  • Trash and recycling
  • Watering plants, feeding pets
  • Organising medications and mail
  • Keeping walkways clear of fall hazards

Cooking that tastes like home

Our caregivers cook the food our clients grew up with, whether that is oxtail, arroz con pollo, griot, jollof, or a plain roast chicken on Sunday. We follow doctor’s instructions on salt, sugar and texture, and we keep the pantry stocked with what the person actually eats.

Usually paired with other care

Homemaker services are rarely booked alone. They slot naturally into companion or personal care visits, so one caregiver, one visit, covers the person and the home. Heavy cleaning, yard work and repairs are not included, but we can recommend trusted local people.
